he was hospitalized for 14-15 days. He was first admitted to Medanta in Lucknow and
then to SGPGI. Where he breathed his last at around 11 pm on Sunday night.

Last year, He was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Lucknow due to ill health.
Even then his condition had deteriorated so much that he was put on a ventilator. Rana’s
daughter and SP leader Sumaiya Rana had said that her father’s health was bad for the
last two-three days. He had stomach pain during dialysis due to which the doctor
admitted him. There was some problem in his gall bladder, due to which he underwent
surgery. When his health did not improve, he then went on the ventilator support
system.
