After a successful year of 2023 for ISRO we have another mission i.e launching XPosat satellites. In 2023 we have seen that ISRO has launched many missions which were successful and useful. 2023 was indeed one of
the best years for ISRO and India. India left its impact on whole world in 2023.
India proved that we can be Number 1 in not only sports, technology, entertainment but also in science.
ISRO is all set to launch its new project on 1st January 2024. Get to know more details about
new project of ISRO in given article.
What is ISRO?
ISRO is a Government agency. The ISRO stands for Indian Space Research Organisation. ISRO
is the national space agency of India. ISRO was founded on 15 August 1969. ISRO was founded
by Vikram Sarabhai. The headquarters of ISRO is located in Bengaluru.
It operates as the primary research and development arm of the Department of Space, which
is directly overseen by the Prime Minister of India and while the Chairman of ISRO also acts
as the executive of DoS.
What is XpoSat?
On 1 Jan 2024 ISRO scientist will launch XPOSat. Mission significant on various counts. Firstly it is
the 60th flight of India’s workhorse rocket.
XPoSat (X-ray Polarimeter Satellite) is India’s first dedicated polarimetry mission to study
various dynamics of bright astronomical X-ray sources in extreme conditions. The spacecraft
will carry two scientific payloads in a low earth orbit. XPOSat stands for x-ray polarimeter
satellite.
How many payloads does XPOSat have?
XPOSat consists of two payloads polix and xposat.
POLIX
The payload is being developed by Ramam Research Institute (RRI), Bangalore in
collaboration with U R Rao Satellite Centre (URSC). Polix are polarimeter instruments in x-ray.
XSPECT
XSPECT is an X-ray SPECtroscopy and Timing payload onboard XPoSat, which can provide fast
timing and good spectroscopic resolution in soft X-rays. Xspect helps in learning missions
from black holes neutron stars.
Has India done missions like this before?
Xposat is a first of its kind Indian space science mission.
What is the date and timing of launching XPOSat satellite?
Satellite Launch timing is set at 9:10 AM based on Indian time. XPOSat will be launched on
Monday, 1st January 2024.
What is the purpose of Xposat?
Xposat will be dedicated to the astronomy science mission, So it is meant to study bright
astronomical sources under extreme conditions from space. XPOSat will study Black holes. It
is a dedicated mission to study x-ray originating from space.
Is PSLV launching for the 1st time?
The PSLV or polar satellite has launched a vehicle it’s been flying for more than 30 years
ferring Indian and foreign satellites to space with a track record of more than 98% success.
How many missions are launched in the last 6 months by ISRO?
Xposat is a third indian science mission being launched in a span of almost 6 months.
First was chandrayan 3 to study the moon. It was launched on 14 July 2023.
Second was the solar observatory Aditiya L1 to study the sun. It was launched on 2 September
2023.
Now we are all set to launch xposat on 1 January 2024.
What all can we expect in 2024 from ISRO?
2024 will be a very exciting year for the Indian space program. Right in the 1st quarter itself
