A big update has come regarding the dates of IPL 2024 auction, which is called the festival of
cricket in India. The 17th season of the Indian Premier League can start from March 22.
The Women’s Premier League can start from February 22. BCCI has planned the IPL

History was created at the Indian Premier League, IPL 2024 auction in Dubai which was held
on Tuesday, when Mitchell Starc became the most expensive player in IPL history.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) included the Australian pacer in their team with a huge bid
of Rs 24.75 crore.
In fact, in the IPL 2024 auction, two players crossed the Rs 20 crore mark for the first
time in this T20 cricket league. Before Mitchell Starc was bought for the record amount, his
Australian teammate Pat Cummins was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for Rs
20.50 crore.
Who was the most expensive player last year?
All-rounder Sam Curran was previously the most expensive player in the IPL, with
Punjab Kings (PBKS) spending Rs 18.50 crore for the player in last year’s auction.

Australia’s Mitchell Starc became the most expensive player of the IPL 2024 auction, with KKR
spending Rs 24.75 crore for the fast bowler in the IPL 2024 auction.
How many players are totally sold from all over the world?
A total of 332 players from 13 countries were bid for in the IPL 2024 auction. Of these,
216 were Indians. After retaining, releasing and trading players, a maximum of 77 slots,
including 30 overseas players, were left to be filled by a combined 10 teams in the IPL
2024 auction.
However, of the 72 players selected during the bidding, only KKR (23) and RR (22) opted
not to fill their entire quota of 25 players. However, all 30 foreign players’ berths were
filled.

Apart from Starc and Cummins, who made their IPL 20 crore club debut, New Zealand
all-rounders Daryl Mitchell (Rs 14.00 crore to CSK), Harshal Patel (Rs 11.75 crore to
PBKS), Alzarri Joseph (Rs 11.50 crore to RCB) and Spencer Johnson (Gujarat Titans Rs 10
crore) was the player who received bids of Rs 10 crore or more in the IPL 2024 auction.
